The Strawberry Festival is a weekend long fundraiser taking place on June 23rd and 24th in support of the Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society. The Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society strives to promote opportunities to individuals with Down Syndrome through supporting families, promoting public awareness, networking with other organizations, and lobbying for educational, vocational, and social opportunities.
The Bissett family-run farm will be opening its doors to attendees looking to pick (or purchase) sweet, juicy strawberries. The Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society will be operating a concession stand where you can pop by and purchase barbecued smokies, hotdogs, and delicious Strawberry Short Cake, donated by event sponsor The Original Cakerie. The event will also feature local crafters and entertainment.
The Strawberry Festival is a fun (and tasty) way to spend your weekend and support a great cause. Grab the family or a group of friends and eat, pick, and be merry! Or find out how you can get involved as an event volunteer by emailing info@lmdss.com.
The festival will run from 10 am to 4 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Bissett Farms is located at 2710 Westham Island Road in Delta, BC. Give them a shout for more info at 604 940 9755.
