6.17 kilos of jewellery sent Yes, that is 13.57 pounds. Collected from my book club and poker club friends. Found that women in their 50s and 60s had a lot of old jewellery around and were very willing to donate. After noting a number of church bazaars that advertised jewellery, I solicited them but none responded.

I will try to figure out who else has jewellery to support this worthwhile cause.

more... I've sent 4 batches of jewellery so far--it's surprising how many items I am getting from family and friends---everyone seems to have unused items :-)

in the mail I sent way one box of jewellery last week--and am in the process of getting another one together--I've asked my co-workers and you'd be surprised how much people are willing to give !!

great idea I think this is a great idea----I'm going to ask my co-worker to do some spring cleaning and donate their old "jewels".

I am estatic about this idea! I have tons of jewlery that I dont wear anymore; glad they can do women in my community more justice than my untouched drawers. My jewlery is on its way!
