Setting up volunteer sketch comedy troupe In need of performers, a director, free rehearsal space
I write sketch comedy routines and in need of performers, a director, a free space to rehearse. (I have run my own troupes in the past) Groups and/or individuals are welcome.
But more importantly, I need people willing to commit to building a quality community (volunteer) sketch comedy troupe.
Since in creativity, we are always evolving, I encourage members to help "punch up" the material. The star of the troupe is the troupe itself.
I do not wish to act or direct. I'm more interested in behind the scenes - writing, producing and fundraising.
The material is not offensive, no profanity, staying away from controversial issues and topics. We don't want to offend our audiences.
I have about 35 routines, averaging 3-5 pages each. (One routine is about 30 pages.)
We will entertain in hospitals, nursing homes, drop in centers, etc. with script in hand like the old radio plays back in the 1940's and 1950's.
If we want to become a non profit, charitable community threatre that, too, is an option.
