Volunteer opportunity in Ghana Summer time volunteering' is an exciting piece of volunteer program put together by YUDES this summer 2010.The is designed for all categories of volunteers regardless of educational qualification.Volunteers only needs to speak English and be adaptive to local conditions e.g. the slower pace in getting things done in Ghana as compared to the advanced countries. This program includes the following:

* Support for the local community through building and construction of school blocks, hospitals etc.
* Care for orphans, vulnerable children and children with learning disabilities e.g. autism
* Care for children who are victims of child trafficking along the banks of Lake Volta
This program also has an amazing host family accommodation and cultural immersion set up.The volunteer will have the opportunity to experience the true Ghanaian hospitality which embedded in our culture.

Education for Africa I have raised about $25,000 for a well and school in Mwanza, Africa. I am working closely with Plan Canada to finalize both. We should finish the well with a fund raiser in Ottawa in May but I need help to raise $46,000 to finish the school. I am looking for people to host events for this great cause. Events of any kind will work, including golf tournaments, fun runs, socials, galas, etc.
I have issued a challenge in that section of Get Involved. Consider helping out. I have visited the kids and I can assure you it is a wondeful feeling to be able to help, knowing what it means to them.
