Youth Challenge International

YCI involves Canadian youth in hands-on projects in developing countries to address local development issues. Our program is ideal if you are:
-Aged 18 to 30
-Motivated to make a difference
-Interested in seeing the world
-Seeking a team based experience
-Available for 5 to 10 weeks
YCI is a life changing experience. You will join a team of other Canadian youth and local youth in the country and program of your choice. If you are ready to get started, all you need to do is pick up the phone or send us an email. However it does require deep commitment and engagement on your part. Once you are overseas, the work schedule can be demanding and living conditions are very basic. But the rewards are immense - you will tap into hidden personal resources and push yourself to new heights.

Engineers Without Borders

Poverty is not about weakness. For the 800 million people who go hungry each day and the one billion who lack access to clean water, poverty is an absence of opportunity. EWB is helping people in developing communities gain access to technologies that will improve their lives. We believe technology, when appropriately incorporated into each community's social, cultural, economic and political context, can drive extraordinary change. EWB has over 35,000 members and 33 chapters across Canada. We currently work in Canada and four countries in Africa: Burkina Faso, Ghana, Malawi, and Zambia

Ryan's Well

The Ryanâ??s Well Foundation grew out of the commitment of one boy, Ryan Hreljac, who learned of the great need for clean and safe water in developing countries. At age seven, Ryan's first well was built in 1999 at Angolo Primary School in a Northern Ugandan village.

Mission

The Ryan's Well Foundation is a family of people committed to delivering access to safe water as an essential way to improve the lives of people in the developing world. We empower citizens of all ages to take action and effect change in the world.

Founded in 2001, Ryanâ??s Well is a registered Canadian water charity (No. 88858 7110 RR0001).
Today the Foundation has contributed a total of 546 wells in 16 countries bringing clean water and sanitation services to over 663,901 people.

Ottawa Friends of Tibet

The Ottawa Friends of Tibet (OFT) was founded in 1996 by Jurme and Angela Wangda and a small group of committed volunteers as a non-political organization dedicated to improving the health, education and economic conditions of Tibetans and Tibetan refugees in India and elsewhere. In 2001, OFT became a federally registered charity. Current projects include the building of a seniors residence in Kalimpong, India, for destitute elderly Tibetans, and, in cooperation with Child Haven International, the funding of two orphanages for Tibetan children, one in New Delhi, India, and one in Tibet near Lhasa.

Our mission is to serve disadvantaged Tibetan children, men and women in India, Nepal and Tibet, and to increase public awareness and appreciation of Tibetan culture.

Canadian Crossroads International

Canadian Crossroads International (CCI) is an international development Organization that is reducing poverty, mitigating the impact of HIV and AIDS and increasing women's rights around the world. Working with local partners in 28 projects, in eight countries and supported by hundreds of volunteers each year, Crossroads leverages expertise and resources, North and South, required to help people overcome poverty and assert their human rights. CCI is currently working in Bolivia, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Swaziland, Togo and Zimbabwe.
