International Justice Mission Canada

International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local governments to ensure victim rescue, to prosecute perpetrators and to strengthen the community and civic factors that promote functioning public justice systems. IJM's justice professionals work in their communities in 12 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America to secure tangible and sustainable protection of national laws through local court systems.In 2002, International Justice Mission Canada was established to educate, empower and engage Canadians in the pursuit of justice for the oppressed. Jamie McIntosh serves as IJM Canada's Executive Director.

Journalists for Human Rights (JHR)

Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) works with the media in Africa and North America to expand and improve human rights coverage. This allows local media to reach millions of people in their own language who would otherwise have little access to information about their rights. Founded in 2002, JHR has quickly become Canada's largest international media development organization. Within Africa, JHR has worked in 15 countries, now assisting local media organizations to reach 20 million people a week with human rights information. In Canada, JHR has established 25 Chapters (or clubs) at post-secondary institutions across the country, actively engaging over 20% of Canada's journalism students in human rights reporting. JHR has offices in Toronto (Canada), Accra (Ghana), Freetown (Sierra Leone) and Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo).

The Centre for Social Innovation is a dynamic space in downtown Toronto, Canada . Our mission is to spark and support new ideas that are tackling the social, environmental, economic and cultural challenges we face today. We're creating the spaces that social innovation needs to thrive and we're contributing a few of our own ideas along the way!
Private or shared, permanent or part-time, the Centre for Social Innovation serves Toronto's social mission community and its visitors through a variety of work spaces. Members have access to a beautiful and fully functioning office space, including high-speed internet, meeting rooms, photocopy and fax machines, kitchen facilities, audio-visual equipment, mailboxes and more. We're located in a bright and beautifully restored factory warehouse space that's been decked out with the latest in eco-design, from indoor bicycle parking and a rooftop garden to solar water heating and a Toronto first: a 250 square foot living and breathing bio-wall.

What is Canada Company?

Canada Company: Many Ways to Serve (Canada Company) is a not-for-profit, apolitical organization, first established in May 2006 with a pledge to stand shoulder to shoulder with our troops for the sacrifices they make every day.

The organization has grown to over 130 members and has quickly established a reputation among senior Canadian Military leaders, media and the business community as an enduring bridge between Canada's Armed Forces and the corporate world.

Canada Company focuses on making sure Canadians, who serve or wish to serve in the Canadian Forces and Reserves, and their families receive the widest possible support, recognition and care they deserve.

Canada Company is not a booster club, nor does it pick or take sides with whatever mission a government decides is appropriate for the Canadian Forces and Reserves.

What is the Meaning Behind Canada Company's Motto?

The motto "Many Ways to Serve" provides an opportunity for Canada Company members to lend their voices, expertise and resources to ensure that our troops are supported and championed. This motto has guided Canada Company's goal to raise Canada's awareness of its soldiers to everyday consciousness.

Community Microskills

Community MicroSkills Development Centre is a non-profit organization that has served communities in Toronto and surrounding areas since 1984. We provide settlement, employment, and self-employment services to individuals, with priority to the needs of immigrants, youth, visible minority people, and low-income women. The programs in our key service areas help our client community achieve economic self-sufficiency, participate actively in community life, and make a productive contribution to Canadian society.

Our programs focus on developing clients' skills, increasing their information base, and facilitating opportunities for them to transfer their skills and knowledge to the Canadian workforce.
