Carolyn Lemon
Lemon and her innovative organization has +50 intellectually challenged partners all working in challenging positions.
When retired school teacher CAROLYN LEMON was looking for employment for her intellectually-challenged adult daughter, she found that the options were limited and was she inspired to create opportunities instead. She and her daughter had always enjoyed baking, so she established the Lemon and Allspice Cookery in 1998. Based on a business partnership model, the Cookery sells baked goods out of their own Coffee Sheds and also provides catering to local businesses and community groups. To date, Lemon and her innovative organization has now over 50 intellectually challenged partners who are employed and independent all working in challenging positions.
