Partners in Art

Engaged philanthropists committed to Contemporary art

CAROL WEINBAUM and JOAN STERNTHAL-SIGAL can trace Partners in Art's roots to the AGO, where they were known as the Junior Committee. They were a group of committed women who volunteered their time to raise money for the gallery. But these women wanted to connect and help a broader contemporary art community. And so, in 2004 they formed a not-for-profit to do just that. They help in two ways: first, by partnering with established arts organizations and collaborating on fundraising, and second, by furthering members' own understanding and knowledge of the visual arts through an active education program. Since their formation four years ago their efforts have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and awareness for Canadian art and artists both nationally and internationally.
