Youth Assisting Youth
Peer mentoring for newcomer and at-risk kids.
YOUTH ASSISTING YOUTH is a community based organization that provides peer mentoring opportunities for newcomer and at-risk youth. Children are paired with trained volunteer mentors and spend at least three hours together each week. This simple pairing provides kids with a positive role model and gives the volunteers the chance to make a real difference in their community. Since its inception in 1976, YAY has helped over 20,000 children through its One to One mentorship program as well as group-based community initiatives like Saddle-Up for Success in partnership with the Toronto Police Services. With programs continually expanding and reaching more neighborhoods, YAY is a testament to the power and value of volunteering your time.
