Financing or Grants

Unity for Autism is a completely volunteer charity, void of all salaries and most overhead costs, whose sole objective is to raise money for organizations serving individuals with autism in order to alleviate the lengthy wait lists that exists. Our grants are designated to offer families programs, services, equipment, once in a lifetime opportunities for their child with autism and support the heroes who care for them. The total annual overhead for the foundation is only ONE percent !

What we might need from other members and organizations:

Volunteers, Financing or Grants, Skills or Expertise

We are always looking for new corporate support in ways of financial and in-kind donations. A person sensitive to the plight of families affected by autism could assist us to introduce our foundation to their corporate connections as well as volunteer for our fundraisers which are our primary source of revenue that supports our recipients.

about Unity for Autism:

There is a crisis that exists for services for persons with autism all across Canada and all agencies are under-funded by our government. In unity though, we do make a difference!

In five years, Unity for Autism has given grants of $2,000,000 to over 25 excellent service providers for autism! Our fundraising achievements have created the following projects specifically for individuals with autism; a recreational ski program, an equine therapeutic riding program, a Snoezelen Room, overnight camp for 50 children, subsidies to attend specialized private schools, Labradors trained to ensure the safety of severely impaired children, financial assistance to 100 families, social skill programs, outdoor adventure programs for youths with Aspergers, sent 10 adults to Disney World for the first time, provide mentors for first year university students with ASD, provided specialized touch screen software for 25 computers, gave a grant to purchase adaptive devices for 20 non-verbal students, funded the first ABA residential group home, etc. In addition to making a difference for families, Unity for Autism donates every year to research into the cause and cure for autism.

how Unity for Autism gets involved

We financially support excellent programs offered by organizations that are trying to meet the demand for their services but overwhelmed by the number of cases that apply for support. We host a first class corporate golf tournament each September that raises several hundred thousand dollars and are planning continued fundraising success by introducing a second fundraiser. In addition, we are constantly networking to raise awareness of autism and the plight of families affected by autism.

how you can get involved with Unity for Autism

We are looking for individuals who can assist us to send donation requests to companies, raise awareness of the efforts of Unity for Autism, introduce us to the appropriate persons to be considered a recipient of a company's fundraiser or philanthropy program, or be a volunteer at one of our fundraisers.
