Abbotsford has a long tradition of helping people, their causes and their community. Yet, this sense of responsibility for the well-being of fellow citizens and for the quality of life in our community needs to be continually nurtured. Recognition and awareness of the crucial role that volunteers play is one important way to help ensure the growth of the spirit of volunteerism. We run Training and Development workshops in the area of Volunteer Management. We have over 200 non-profit organizations and over 500 volunteers in our database. Volunteer Abbotsford promotes volunteering in the community. We also send out volunteer opportunities every Friday to our database. Our vision is to be a house hold name in Abbotsford and offer every potential volunteer the opportunity to have the best volunteer experience they can have.

how Volunteer Abbotsford gets involved

The mission of Volunteer Abbotsford is to promote volunteerism and raise awareness of the power of service. Promoting volunteerism in our community encompasses many activities and processes some of which are through the media, volunteer fairs, professional development workshops, International Day of the Volunteer Conference, and National Volunteer Recognition events. Innovative and creative strategies are needed to promote volunteerism. Partnership with Abbotsford's over 150 non-profit organizations allows for our involvement in advancing public understanding of the vital role played by volunteers.

Our vision is to create a healthy and caring community through participation in the volunteer sector. We help motivate people to make a commitment to volunteer and to maintain or increase their current level of involvement.
