About the Project: The project is situated in a village which is high up on a terraced hill above Kabele Town. The villagers rely on farming to provide for basic survival and because there is no fresh water nearby, villagers need to travel a great distance down the steep terrain and back up again to bring the water to their households. There are two primary projects at village. The first being a water pumping system to get running water up to the village from the river below and the second being the construction of a school for the children as currently they attend school in the local church and a wooden structure next to the guest house.
Current Needs: The needs of the project at the moment are primarily to get the water system from the river to the village and once that is completed, to build a school for the children. Volunteers are requested to help raise funds prior to joining the project. Groups of volunteers should try aim to raise between EUR€250 and EUR€500. These funds combined with the funds from third party donors are critical in getting the relevant tools and materials to complete the work.
