About the project: Currently in Uganda, more than 30% of the population is under the age of 15 of which 1 million of those are orphans and 600,000 are homeless. These children spend their days living without food or shelter and end up having to beg in order to stay alive.
In May 2011. Kennedy, the organization president, came across 11 children that were living next to the prison cells at a police station. After hearing their story of how they came together as a group on the streets and lived for 5 months without clothing or shelter, he helped them to find a home in what was 11 the number has grown upto 24 beautiful children living at the orphanage for this project.
Current Needs: As anyone with children will know, it’s not easy raising 1 or 2, let alone 24. The challenges that are faced with these children are from providing them their basic needs of food and clothing to getting them a good education. The Ugandan schools started on the 5th of September so in order to not let the children miss out on this opportunity, they are residing in a small room next to their school. We are working to get better home. EUR€350 every month needs to be raised in order keep them in a new home. The project relies on donations and volunteers to help take care of the children in the best way possible.
