Formerly known as Shine Africa Ministries, in 2013 the organisation was re-branded as Shine Africa Foundation. We collectively felt this new name encompasses the strength of our work as a foundation for sustainability together with our broad spectrum for programs. Our motto ‘Sustainable empowerment of our communities’ encapsulates the beliefs and ideals that guide our organisation.

About Us
Shine Africa Foundation is a faith based, non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO) established in 2006 by a group of local individuals who felt compelled to respond to the needs of vulnerable and marginalised people in the local communities particularly affected by civil war and poverty. Shine Africa’s main focus is to empower the local people, and create sustainable change. Our main programs are centred on public health, education, livelihoods, food security and human rights.
How To Get Involved With Us
If you choose to come and volunteer with us, you will participate in a number of community and administrative roles ,besides you will also participate in fundraising, proposal writing, Music dance and drama,sports activities, counseling, photography.Most of your time you will work as a community mentor,you will spend 6-8 hours per day,5 days a week ,working with a group of youth, children,HIV/AIDS groups,you will be also involved in teaching and playing with children,caring for the elderly and disabled. You will also have an opportunity to participate in management skills and support the organisation in Monitoring and Evaluation of projects and programs. Volunteers will also be able to look for various types of grant makers, Organizing and managing international conferences, workshops and trainings, Serving as an intermediary of grants to members/stakeholders , looking for twinning partners for the organization a broad , opening and managing international affiliate offices of the organization and finally among others, able to produce adequate reports.
