Youth Engagement
When volunteers raise awareness, what does it look like? Is it a tangible outcome that you can see? For most of us, no. Learn how to better engage youth in awareness and fundraising, by showing them the impact they make.

Festival LogoGet involved in Edmonton’s summer Festivals! The Works Art & Design Festival is celebrating 27 years and wants you to join in on the fun! 13 days, JUNE 21st to JULY 3rd 2012, of visual art, live music, and fun at Sir Winston Churchill Square await you! The Festival is the most unique, FREE event of its kind in North America, boosting Edmonton’s energy and imagination through new media exhibits, demonstrations and installations alongside traditional visual art in unconventional urban spaces.

Volunteers can choose specific volunteering fields of interest from Festival preparation to marketing Special Events to making crafts with children! Check out the volunteer posting HERE or check out the list of specific opportunities HERE.

Volunteering for The Works does not need to be a huge time commitment: the minimum requirement is 10 volunteer hours over the 13 days of the Festival. Although, once you get involved you will probably won’t want to stop volunteering. We have many volunteers that return year after year, some have even been with us for decades! The Works greatly appreciates any time you can give to the festival. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Teresa Dorey (volunteer@theworks.ab.ca), is keen on meeting with you to ensure that you have the best experience with us this year!

The Festival is in 3 weeks so please do this as soon as possible so that you can to ensure your scheduling requirements are met and that you are signed up for the proper orientation. Also, please spread the word – the more people involved in The Works, the better!
